Morris Dance Music - Congleton Bear or Swaggering Boney

Congleton Bear (670kB MP3), sung to Longborough tune for Swaggering Boney, played on fiddle and sung live in one take, in my own arrangement. First verse only to conserve bandwidth.

In late November of 2005 a statement was made on the Morris Dance mailing list that B___ plays his fiddle off the shoulder " when he is singing so he can move his jaw". In contrast, when I sing while fiddling (in West Gallery music or other styles) I keep the violin up on my shoulder, loosely under the chin, and this recording is an (audio) illustration of that.
