This collection (LACHRIMAE, or Seaven Teares Figured in Seaven Passionate Pavans) contains a lot of Dowland's best dance music. It was originally written for viols or violins (including violas and cellos), but is mostly suitable for recorders, although if you don't have a C bass, you will have to do some transposing of the bottom parts. The most common recorder configuration would be SATTB.
This collection is now for sale at lulu.com. Or you can download the individual pieces at .
Note that this is only the viol (recorder, etc.) parts. I have not transcribed any of the lute parts.
Unlike the other Dowland part books, I do not include incipits, as I have done no versions with transpositions and meter changes, and the incipits would have increased the page counts significantly.
There is a bonus piece in the lulu.com versions, which doesn't occur in the Lachrimae as Dowland published it. This piece is attributed to Dowland and was published in 1607 by Füllsack and Hildebrand, in Ausserlesner Paduanen und Galliarden: Susanna Galliard
